ENTRY 007: ADOBE Update(Price) 6/17/2025

June 19, 2025. Man, this week has set me back tremendously. It has been rough... interesting. Been a lot going on and things being delayed.

I've been trying to get the whole business license and everything straight, which in the past, it wasn't a problem. It wasn't an issue, but now I'm trying to go about things differently.

And because of certain rules and laws, that's in place in in the city, it's not as easy as it seemed or as you think it would be. But I've been working on it going back and forth with the people that I need to and hopefully got some things figured out. To top it off, the creative program that I was working with, I got shut out of it.

So I haven't been able to create or design anything all this week, especially for promotion and marketing material and anything of that sort, seeing how as tomorrow, the e-com summer project was supposed to launch. Might still happen, might not. I'm not sure.

I'm still trying to figure that out. And for the past few days, I've just been trying to get the numbers together, calculating everything, how much things going to cost before I like jump out there and like push play on things. Because when I do this, this has to work and everything has to do go as planned.

And I don't mean like, okay, there won't be a few bumps or roads just like as it is now. But, I mean, like, once I really get things going and invest in this and this money gets spent from whatever case may be, it has to really, really get going. There's no Plan B, CD, EFG, HI, JK LMNOP.

No, it's just this one plan. Plan A. Speaking of A, remember, as I said, the program I was using, I got kicked off of it, but I went to go and look at the numbers, and I was trying to figure, okay, how much is gonna cost me get anything together. Now I did that.

Yesterday, I went back to confirm the price that I had seen because I was writing things down. And Adobe raised their price out of nowhere. So where at first where it was $59 a month, it's now $69 a month.

Now that that's totally fine. You're not really going to feel that. It's like, okay, it's another $10.

Now over the years as they work it up, work it up, work it up. You gonna be like, damn, what y'all doing? You know what I'm saying?

But for me, I like to pay things in full, like annually if I can, if that's the option. And so that was the option and it cost like $600 and like 45 or 54 or something like that, right? Okay.

So, like I said, I went back yesterday to check the numbers and just to get exact number because I wanted to be exact. Do you know? this program is now damn there $800.

So it went from the six something that I seen to now being $779. It's Damn there $800. I promise you, on like three to five years, it's gonna be like a G."

And I'm be like, "Damn, what happened? I don't care. I ain't blaming this on no tariff or none of that.

Like, I don't know what be going on with Adobe. They be jacking up their prices out of nowhere and it's just one of those things. It's like, man, that's the business we chose. The business we in.

And honestly, I can't even be mad at them if you look at it at a business standpoint, even from the user right? Because technically, right, if you're doing what you got to do and you're handling business, you can make that money back off of like one or two projects. Now, the thing is, when you're just getting started, though, and you don't have no customers or you don't have no business coming in, no income, or you're not selling nothing, it's like, damn.

What the hell? But it's just one of those things.

And the crazy part is that right now, creatives don't really make that much and they get handed the low ball. I'm talking about. Like, if you think about it, no business at this point in time would survive or look good or dominate the way they did without a creative, without looking the way that it looks, giving it the feel that it does, you wouldn't be successful.

It'd just be some whatever software, shoe, cereal, cookie, chips, car, whatever the case may be. But yet, people don't see that. And I can't even blame.

I don't even blame the business owners and entrepreneurs or anything like that because honestly, creatives did it to them... did it to ourselves because I am a creative. But I'm on the fence with that because I'm not the one that does that. Like, I keep everything top tier.

I don't try to hurt the industry. I don't try to hurt my peers. And that's what some do.

Like, I'm going to charge like $5, $10, $50 for certain things to be designed and print. And then for like, web and logos and all that type of $#!*, charging like $100, $200 when it really ca like damn there minimum, of $2,000, $2,500, 3 - 5 G's, whatever case may be. And it's like, people do things for like, crumbs.

And sometimes, yeah, the consumer or  the client, they do feel it because they do understand to see the difference when you go to someone who low balls or like it's very cheap to a professional, whether that's a freelancer or agency that like really take care of you, your product, your service, and your dream. That's a whole different thing, though.

But that's why I can't really get mad at Adobe because it's like, if you doing this, you should be doing this to make money. And if you are in school or whatever, they got things for students and, you know, I'm saying discounts and prices, teachers and all that type $#!*. But for a business, listen, you should be able to make this and get it back with no problem.

My thing is, though, like I said, damn it, I just seen you at 6 something. I wake up the next day, you damn there $800. On top of everything else, I got to pay for right now and to make things happen.

Just always something. But it's cool. We gonna bounce back.

I ain't gonna cry about it. We're gonna handle business. Make everything worth it, and get it together.

But damn. Damn. Damn it $800.

Man, no, man. I already had a certain budget, but then that just.. It's cool.

But, like I said, the Econ summer project was supposed to start tomorrow, but I haven't promoted one bit.. I haven't even, I don't even remember the last time I posted. It's probably like last week or, yeah, I had to be like last week.

Minor setback, major comeback. It's cool. I'm gonna figure it out.
